Every day, millions of Ghanaians, mostly women and children, walk an average of 30 minutes to several hours to collect water. This water is often contaminated, causing illness and death. The time spent walking is time lost from school, work, and rest.
Stepping into the shoes of those who walk daily for survival.
Helping drill boreholes and build essential WASH facilities.
Shining a light on a global crisis that is entirely solvable with collective action.
Every Step Taken Moves a Community Closer to Clean, Safe, and Reliable Water.
We organize Walk4Water events in cities and communities across Ghana. Participants walk a designated distance (often 3–6 kilometers) carrying water containers to simulate the daily burden faced by rural communities.
Individuals and teams register for events and commit to fundraising goals. Participants invite friends, family, and colleagues to sponsor their walk, with all proceeds supporting water projects.
On event day, hundreds gather to walk in solidarity. The experience is powerful; participants often describe it as eye-opening and motivating.
Funds raised directly support borehole construction, school WASH facilities, and well refurbishment in deprived communities.
Join a Walk4Water event in your area. Walk with us, fundraise, and be part of the solution.
Schools, churches, companies, and community groups can organize their own Walk4Water events. We provide toolkits, materials, and support.
Can't walk? Sponsor someone who is! Every contribution brings safe water closer to a community in need.
Our organization truly believes that by working together, we can save more lives than ever before.
